Your turn to role-play

Work in pairs. Act out a short conversation between a parent and a 15-year old. They are talking about getting a part-time job at one of the places mentioned by McKenzie and Rhiannon.

  1. The teenager is to say why he or she wants to get a job.
  2. The parent is to react to what the teenager is saying and disagree about something.
  3. Record the conversation.
  4. Listen to the recording. Decide how you could make the conversation more convincing.
  5. Act out the conversation to another pair.
