A perfect holiday

Kick-off

Tom is 17 years old and lives in England. Where do you think he goes on holiday? Write down
three suggestions, then listen and see if you were right.

A perfect holiday for me is to-, is in a location that’s very remote and very peaceful, er, with, with not much distractions or anything, so you could, sort of, just relax and get away from the stresses of everyday life.

Erm I-, I don’t think you necessarily have to go abroad to have a good holiday. Erm … we’ve had er, quite a few good holidays still in the UK. Erm … and er, I’ve only been abroad a few times to France and once to America.

Wh-, when I went to America, we went to the state of Florida, which is in the southeast part of the country. Er, and it’s, it’s very different to the UK. Th-, the climate is much warmer and much more humid and … the first thing that I really noticed was that the rain was warm, which is a very strange experience. Erm … and th-, the wildlife is different as well. Erm, I-, I remember going on a glass bottom boat tour and seeing lots of different fish that I’d never seen before and, like, lizards and … and iguanas erm … in, in these mangroves which are, are trees that grow sort of in, in the water. Erm … and also the people there are very nice, they’re very talkative. Erm yeah … And it-, it’s always sunny, unlike England.
